Sandy Bergan | Community Representative

Sandy Bergan has been an advocate for children, serving on PTAs and School Site Councils while her children attended the Mountain View public schools.  She currently coordinates one-on-one math tutors for the JustMath program, and privately tutors math in her home.  Sandy has also served on the YMCA board where she coordinated many events to encourage physical activity in the community, and continues to volunteer and participate in the El Camino YMCA triathlon club.  She received her BS in Engineering Physics from the University of Kansas and her Masters in Applied Physics from Johns Hopkins University.

Sandy served on the CHAC board for 6 years before taking the required leave in 2019.  While on the CHAC board, she served as the board chair for three years and took a lead role in writing the strategic plan.  Sandy appreciates that teachers and school administrators have the means to easily identify and seek help for children with mental health issues.  By resolving issues before adulthood, the child will become a more productive and happier citizen in our community.  CHAC’s preventative and proactive work with our students directly translates to a better community for everyone.  CHAC in our community guarantees that everyone can be helped – regardless of their ability to pay.  Sandy believes that CHAC is an important asset in our community.
