IdaRose Sylvester | Community Representative

IdaRose is a Mountain View community leader, nonprofit director, and entrepreneur, currently serving as Chair of the Human Relations Commission, on which she works on a variety of issues related to diversity and inclusion in our community.

She also serves on the board of directors of Carbon Free Mountain View, Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning, Friends of Deer Hollow Farm, and Mountain View Historical Association, and is the founder of Together We Will Palo Alto Mountain View. She is an entrepreneur, working as a corporate educator and trainer, marketing consultant, and corporate and nonprofit leader, helping people and organizations achieve, and then exceed, their goals. She is the passionate founder of award-winning Appetite for Good, helping restaurants and families in need of a helping hand weather the pandemic, and beyond.

IdaRose is interested in CHAC because she feels the high-pressured Silicon Valley gives rise to mental health needs at all ages and all walks of life in our community, but these are often downplayed. She is deeply concerned about equitable access to mental health care, and is also hopeful that we can appreciate the importance of mental health as we emerge through the pandemic.

IdaRose has lived in Mountain View for over 20 years, where she resides with her husband, Neil, and menagerie of pets, and can often be found in her rose or vegetable garden, where she is reminded hope springs eternal. She looks forward to hosting social events with friends and family again, and traveling (anywhere/everywhere) after the pandemic!
