George Tyson | Treasurer, JPA

George earned his BS and MS in Chemical Engineering at UC Berkeley, and later an MBA from San Jose State University.  He has had a long career in the pharmaceutical industry, developing and manufacturing new medicines for cancer, kidney disease, and other conditions. He is currently a consultant helping small companies bring new products to the market.  He also teaches the capstone class for seniors in Chemical Engineering each Fall at UC Berkeley.

Prior to his election to the Los Altos Hills City Council in 2018, George served as Commissioner and president of the Los Altos Hills County Fire District, board member and president of West Valley Community Services, and board member and president of the Cupertino Union School District. He is eager to use his extensive business and non-profit experience to help CHAC accomplish its mission.
