Everyone deserves to be noticed, heard, and helped.

Community Health Awareness Council (CHAC) is a community-based mental health agency providing mental health services to over 32 schools and communities for 50 years!

CHAC is committed to multiculturalism and inclusion. Our services reflect our belief in the value of each individual, the importance of family (however it is defined), and the necessity of community.

We offer School-Based Counseling services to support children and adolescents, and we're here to support parents, guardians, and families as well. We understand that mental health affects the whole family, and we're here to help everyone thrive.

The agency houses two distinct training programs. The Doctoral Psychology training includes our American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Internship Program and the Practicum Training Program. The Masters Counseling training program includes Practicum students and Intern/Associate level trainees (MFT and LPC).

In collaboration with FIRST 5 Santa Clara County and other community partners, CHAC’s Family Resource Centers (FRCs) offer classes, events, and individual consultations to help parents/ caregivers understand the importance of physical and social-emotional development in early childhood. The FRCs also seek to connect caregivers to community resources in order to widen their support circles.

CHAC offers a supervised professional experience serving clientele with a wide range of ages, presenting problems, and modalities of treatment (individual, family, and couple) as well as psychological assessment within the context of a broad range of multicultural diversity and individual differences.

CHAC Clinic is currently on hiatus, effective August 1, 2023. We are unable to accommodate clients at our clinic at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and kindly request you to check back for updates.
